Six Days Until Trumansburg Goes Plop
Back where I come from, up in Wayne County, they called it a Susie Cow Chip Contest. I never expected to see it down here it Trumansburg. Then again, the town of Ulysses is a great kind of mixing of different worlds, village and country, traditional and progressive, agrarian and academic.
So, on April 8, out at the fairgrounds, there will be what they’re calling Crazy Cow Plop Bingo. Here’s how it works: They take a piece of ground, maybe a quarter of an acre, and fence it off, then make a grid on the ground, usually with spray paint. Then, they put a cow in the field, and wait.
People make bets on where the cow will first lay a chip.
Compulsive gamblers, pay attention. This crazy cow may offer better odds than the scratch-off cards at the Big M. The person who guesses the right square in the grid will get 500 dollars.
The event benefits the sports boosters for JV girls’ baseball and basketball. BBQ Chicken will be sold at the event as well.
Is it just me, or do cow poop and barbeque chicken not make an appetizing mix?

J: So that is what that was! It sounds even more exciting than it promised as framed up by you. And the whole idea of Tburg Surf and Turf…(cow poop and chicken bbq.) is so repulsive that it probably was highly profitable! I think these musings and observations you are making are wonderful. Keep it up–I’m tuning in. Q.
