The following message is being displayed on the Winterfest web site tonight:

Due to the bad weather forecast for Friday evening, the following have been cancelled The Food Court, Visit With Santa by carriage and Ride With Santa on Friday.

Santa will stay at The Legion on Friday night…..Ride With Santa is Saturday, at 1:00PM. The winner will start at The Community Nursery School, ride with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elf to The Post Office. The winner and their guests will then be given a ride back to the Community Nursery school, so as to enjoy a ride through the village.

In addition, Fireworks have been postponed till Saturday, 8:30pm, at The Legion

On the weather map, I’m seeing a cold front moving across the country, with snow to the south and west of us around Missouri, but rain coming our way. The forecast tomorrow is for thunderstorms with highs in the 50s, probably moving to get colder as the day progresses.

It’s not the makings for a pleasant walk up and down Main Street with the kids, nor for standing around on the food court with a hot meal from the Rotarians. Saturday will be colder, but more peaceful. Here’s hoping that an ice storm doesn’t come in the meantime.
