The Sweet Shoppe has opened on Main Street in Trumansburg, and the phlox have opened on the side streets as well. Trumansburg water comes out clean in the newest report. The same cannot be said for one of the arguments used to justify the creation of Water District 5 throughout the Town of Ulysses. Trumansburg Village Trustees Chris Thomas and David Filiberto were both responsive and gracious in their phone calls back to me tonight about the gaps in online information about village activities. We ought to have full and accurate, up-to-date information about the activities of our village government online, but we don’t. Take a look at the online minutes for the Trumansburg Village Board of Trustees, and you’ll see what I mean. The last time that they were updated was February 12 – three and half months ago, long before Marty Petrovic, Rordan Hart and Chris Thomas were placed on the board. Tonight, from 7 to 9, a meeting of the Trumansburg Comprehensive Plan Committee, for the purpose of more public input. Prove to me that Trumansburg is legally required to get an additional water source of the sort used to justify Water District 5. I want proof, not just hearsay. Show me the documents. Show me the law. I don’t just want to look at professional guidelines or suggestions. I want to see proof that the there is any law that obligates the Village of Trumansburg to develop another source of water. My kids have been a part of the Trumansburg Marching Band in the Memorial Day Parade for years, so I’ve attended a few of the ceremonies that follow the parades. The American Legion organizes these parades, and invites someone from the military to speak to the crowd. Oddly, I’ve never heard any of these speakers, [...] Michael Arcuri against allowing George W. Bush to keep the Iraq War going without any strings attached. Mike Arcuri has done what he was sent to Washington D.C. to do. The Cannon Congressional House Office Building, where Arcuri has his offices, has been evacuated. There’s nothing in the news to indicate that this evacuation exists, much less what might be causing it. Is there actually an evacuation of the Cannon Congressional House Office Building? If so, why aren’t we hearing about it, and does no one on Michael Arcuri’s staff have a cell phone to get in touch with the Auburn office? Members of the Ulysses Town Board were not notified by Doug Austic that the meeting was even taking place. How can we in the Village of Trumansburg take anything about Water District 5 at face value when even our representatives on the Town Board can’t get straight answers? |
