Anti-Veto Protest Nearby Today
Yesterday, President Bush veoted the Democratic legislation that set an end to the war in Iraq. Today, across the country, people are protesting that veto as a way to show their members of Congress that there is widespread support for the attempt to overturn the veto and put an end to the war.
MoveOn has a registry of anti-veto protests taking place today. So far, that registry doesn’t show a demonstration scheduled in Trumansburg or elsewhere in Ulysses, but there is a protest planned today in Ithaca, on the Commons, at 8:00 PM.
Roll down the hill and take part, if you can. If you can’t, try to make three calls about the veto today:
Representative Michael Arcuri: (607)-756-2470
Senator Hillary Clinton: (202) 224-4451
Senator Charles Schumer: 202-224-6542
