Black Diamond Trail Website Online
Those residents of Ulysses who are interested in seeing a kind of development through the town that celebrates the landscape instead of covering it up will be happy to learn that a web site for the Black Diamond Trail is now online.
Right now, there’s a call to contact governmental representatives (call Barbara Lifton at 607-277-8030), some news about a display of information about the trail at Eastern Mountain Sports down on Meadow Street in Ithaca, and a lot of good background information about the trail, including a map. You’ll notice that the map shows the Trumansburg portion of the trail only as a dotted line. Well, first things first.
The events of the last year have shown that there are a lot of dedicated people willing to turn out to do hard work on the trail. The Black Diamond Trail could be a completed reality before too long, if it gets the necessary support from state and local government.

Too bad it isn’t easier to get things done like this one.
and or WD5. Good stuff for the community at large. I’m sure some will argue esp about the trail.
Politics in the USA have become so cumbersome it is truly comical and ridiculous to watch but infuriating as well.
The Current endless campaign for the presidency is insane to have it start two years before any election. Thirty days should be the limit. There is no reason to have continuous campaigns and it hinders any governmental process.
There is a time when the elected officials should do something besides work on re-election. It is incredibly stupid of us to allow this to continue. It is costly with no real benefit and counterproductive to boot.
Need to have limits. And this is just the national campaigns. They should all be limited to one month for campaigning and further limited in funding.
Well at least there is one positive this week in the demise of Jerry Falwell. That should help reduce some bigotry and dis and misinformation.
Hey Jonathan, How do I get to write original comments instead of answering other so I have to go off topic?
Or do I have to agree with your premises on al things first or at least politically?
Quote about Falwell from NY Times articles seems appropriate.
This guy didn’t think much of him.
”
The friendly folk at Wonkette are typical: “At a time like this, people deserve sympathy and good wishes … except for Falwell,†the blog notes. “Over his long career as a vile televangelist building an empire of bigotry from the donations of poor people, Falwell has supported South African apartheid, called AIDS an invention of Jesus to punish gays, attacked Martin Luther King and U.S. civil rights, and blamed 9/11 on feminists and homosexuals.â€
