Kudos to Arcuri
Kudos to our Representative Michael Arcuri. He is one of 15 cosponsors of Rep. Jay Inslee’s H.RES.589 Title: Directing the Committee on the Judiciary to investigate whether Alberto R. Gonzales, Attorney General of the United States, should be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors. Inslee introduced this resolution just yesterday, July 31st.
Hopefully, this brings us a big step closer to the impeachment of the men that he is trying to protect by perjuring himself in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.

Allen,
I would like to comment on you blog but do not want to have a new account which I desperately do not need. NO GOOGLE account please.
What happened to this blog by the way?
No longer active?
Have people gone underground? or trying to find more agreeable commentary?
Anyway Impeachment is imperative not just desired in these times. We cannot allow this nonsense to stand. The country may already be doomed because of political stupidity and anti science and religious nuts in government. It is IMPERATIVE that impeachment go ahead and it may actually be too late. Congress is truly hopeless and the democrats have proven now that they are very little different than republicans. They truly are useless and a waste of space. There is not one gut in the whole mess there. Pelosi is shameful and Reid is not any better. Spineless bureaucrats at best.
these guys are the rubber stamp and deserve no defense whatsoever. It seems Tom Clancy had the right Idea in his book Executive order where they wipe out a joint session of congress and the president and vice etc. . All of them and start over…. And no lawyers allowed in the new government only real people. Is that the only way to get the country back ?
Most people do not seem to care enough to even see this travesty of democracy being erased before our eyes. The corporate interests making us into an Oligarchy . The military industrial complex which Eisenhower warned us about.
Oh well, Halliburton rules!!!! for the foreseeable future and that will be much better than having government by the people.
Impeachment however slim a chance seems ludicrous now after the Clinton Debacle for nothing at all. Talk about heinous. If the congress had been watching something besides Clinton’s sex life while most of them had their own affairs going perhaps 9/11 would not have happened at all. But no!
Then as now they cannot see the forest for the trees!
Congress is populated by idiots as Mark Twain said.
We have got to get the bums out.
No more career politicians. and only from real working people who have made an honest living doing something.
worthwhile. Get rid of them after 4 years and let them live with their decisions. Get healthcare for all now Congress has it and for what? Selling the entire country including manufacturing down the tubes for the last 40myears so their buddies and often them selves can afford retirement in style for selling out the real people. Michael Moore is far more accurate than most people believe I have also seen first hand how large corporation are selling out the American dream so a couple of CEOs can live high on the hog. ENRON is everywhere. Checkout the HMOs. Talk about racketeering. It is not the doctors’ pay that costs so much it is the system of corruption in healthcare where so many hands that contribute nothing to the product. NO VALUE ADDED that costs so much but it is well hidden in Propaganda. Similar to the notion that the Chincese are stealing our jobs and our work. That is not true Either it is corporate America that is selling our souls not their own of course. Very similar to the War in Iraq. This needs to end ASAP.
Barry,
OK, I changed the settings. You can try again. I would prefer that you comment with your real name, but I changed the settings to allow anonymous. I have a different philosophy than Jon. If I think a post is offensive or worthless, I’ll delete it. You can disagree with me, but please be civil. I remember some nasty comments about Don Ellis on Jon’s blog.

Are you joking here?
You can try posting this again if you’d like.
Did you say that there are two of you that post from this address?
Which one of you wrote this?
This is partly why I prefer posting with our real names – it prevents some confusion, and incourages civility
Thanks
Allen
Sorry but Don Ellis deserves all that and more. He is extremely dishonest in all dealings as far as I can see. and I think represents the worst of all politicians. The sneaky garbage that has been done regarding Austic and the Water district is unforgivable and warrants removal from office in my humble opinion
no less than Bush. We need to cut off politics like that right at the root and at the beginning. There has been nothing at all constructive done since Ellis has been on the Board. there are also many other local sources of info on this individual and he deserves no respect.
I have let a friend use my email address for publication on occasion. PP
It is unfortunate that the local government cannot get together on progress because of a few that have a personal agenda and are in gov for only that reason of personal gain … financial or otherwise
Lying and cheating are no way to do business contrary to popular todays methods. We need to disci=ourage the likes of Enron and of Halliburton in my opinion. They are not the way to do business and should be brought up on charges for their actions same as the FED GOV today.
oops
I used her name here
must be she left the last message
the name thing stays there then
PP is 90 years old I am only 65.
Barry,
You couldn’t be more wrong about Don Ellis. You are getting bad information from someone. He is trying to do what is best for the community. He does not stand to profit greatly from his efforts. I know him well. I will not discuss this further in this format, especially sense you won’t sign your real name. When posting, the name is above the text block as plain as day.
I realize it is the current national trend to think the end justifies the means. We see it in Washington everyday. However Honor is still actually important as we will find out. The thing I object to with Don is his use of anything regardless of any truth to get what he wants
or perceives as the best for the community. No water for example bt only because it was introduced by someone he would like to replace in office. The dishonesty I refer to is not financial in particular. It is Honor. The fact that he wants to make rules that fit his agenda very similar to W in Washington. If the rules don’t fit then changes them., like not wanting to use the Roberts rules of order in town meetings. That is truly ridiculous and counterproductive and total waste of time and tax payer money. The manufacturing of artificial factors to object to water for the Town of Ulysses. False projections and invented or doctored facts. Spin. I know it has become acceptable but then so is Murder during war. The end does not really justify the means. We see it every day in Washington where surveillance has become the standard and we eliminate most of what made this country great in order to protect it. Really stupid stuff. anyway
thanks for th opening on the other blog. I do not want to see Don Ellis in any position of any influence because he is not personally equipped to do it. Just as W is not equipped to be president and never was. He has no positive background and has time again proven that he is truly incompetent. He was good at being a drunk and should have stayed that way. Don is not a good representative of local Town needs. Dishonesty is not always financial.
Need integrity in office he has none.
I have a press release for you from the Ulysses Philomathic Library’s local artist series (see below). Can I send you a photo as well?
