Liz Thomas and Dave Kerness Win Over Republicans for Town Board

Democrats Dave Kerness and Liz Thomas earned solid victories over Republicans Heather Hartwell and Scott Sherwood, to become the two newest members of the Ulysses Town Board. Two seats were left vacant by Democrats Don Ellis and Roxanne Marino. In District 1, Scott Sherwood got the most votes, with Heather Hartwell behind him. However, in Districts 2, 3, and 4, Liz Thomas and Dave Kerness were far ahead.

Michael Arcuri Votes To Destroy Impeachment Resolution

This afternoon, Representative Dennis Kucinich brought his resolution to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney to the floor of the House of Representatives. Almost immediately, the Democratic leadership tried to table the resolution. The man who represents Trumansburg and Ulysses in the United States House of Representatives, Michael Arcuri, voted to destroy the impeachment resolution.

Green Gingko Leaves Down

It’s typical for a gingko tree to turn its leaves yellow very quickly, and then to drop them before long. This year, however, Trumansburg’s gingko trees skipped a step. Responding to a hard frost after a long autumn of unusually warm weather, the leaves fell without turning color. I don’t know if the same thing happened to gingko trees elsewhere in Ulysses.

Trumansburg Central Schools Capital Project
