The Trumansburg Democrats held their village caucus this afternoon. Allen Carstensen and Marty Petrovic were both nominated with strong approval by the Democrats at the meeting. The following are the events and activist opportunities being organized in the area around Trumansburg on behalf of the presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, between today and the February 5th primary. All of these are driving distance, and nothing’s listed for Trumansburg or anywhere else in Ulysses so far, but it’s not to late to plan an event yourself.

Some Senators attempted to substitute less corrupt legislation for the extension of the Protect America Act, so that at least the retroactive legal immunity for telecommunications corporations would not be granted. The measure failed. In part, that’s because Hillary Clinton did not show up to vote. She was too busy campaigning for President to do the job in the United States Senate New Yorkers elected her to do just 14 months ago.

The Trumansburg Central School District Foundation is looking for people to help them in their work, by volunteering, through donations, and by spreading the word about the work of the Foundation.
