609 people voted on the proposition to create a position for an high school student to be a non-voting member of the Trumansburg school board, with 457 voting in favor and 152 voting against.

The budget for the Trumansburg Central School District is lower than last year’s budget. There are also three propositions on the ballot today.

Fracking requires the use of large amounts of fresh water, usually taken from local sources. Much of that water, contaminated by toxic chemicals, remains in the ground. The rest has to be recaptured and then disposed of as industrial waste.

The idea is that the garden will become something many people in Ulysses, including people who have never had children in Namaste, feel some ownership of, and feel welcome to visit and contribute to.

The press release also informs us that there will be refreshments available at the lecture by Michelle Wilbur… but does not tell what the portion size will be.
