Guantanamo – Haiti ?????
See Guantanamo in the upper left corner? The US Navy’s oldest overseas Naval Station, with 9000 troops, earth moving equipment, desalinization equipment, emergency medicine supplies, etc, etc. is damn close to an enormous need for these things. But they didn’t get the call. Instead, countries from the other side of the planet, like China, beat them to it.
Imagine how much we could have improved our image around the world, if instead of only being known for torture, and illegal imprisonment, Guantanamo could have been known for it’s role in the rescue effort.
Yes we can?
