Artisan Cafe To Change Hands Or Close
As an upscale business in bleak economic times, the odds were always against the Artisan Cafe. Now, the owners of the cafe are announcing their intention to sell the business, and to close its doors in the next two weeks. The following announcement was sent out a few hours ago:
“After much thought and continued hard work towards keeping The Artisan Cafe open we have come to the difficult decision to attempt a sale of the business. We will remain open for at least the next two weeks during which we will also accept inquiries into the purchase of the cafe. We deeply value all that each of you have done to show your appreciation for our presence in the community. It is with great sadness that we send this message to you, but we ask again that you pass it along to any interested parties. We still look forward to celebrating Valentines Day weekend with you as well as a very special music event next Saturday to benefit children’s cancer research. Again we thank you for your support through the last two years!”

I really don’t want the Artisan to close. What could be the options to keep it afloat?
At this point, I think the options would involve getting a group of people together who would be willing to buy and operate the business. That’s not an easy prospect and could involve a great deal of financial sacrifice. Would you be interested in such a venture?
