Rob Cassetti got 100 percent, but only of a tiny percentage of the village population. Only 82 Trumansburgers turned out to vote yesterday.

Could Trumansburg Republicans organize a write-in campaign, sending lots of their party’s voters to the polls with a shadow candidate’s name written in on the ballots?

I’m a liberal, and I’m happy that Democrat Mike Arcuri lost yesterday to Republican Richard Hanna. Here’s why…

Although Republican challenger Richard Hanna took more than half again as much money as Arcuri in general during the first quarter of this year, Hanna did not receive any donations from Trumansburg.

Les Roberts need not worry about being an election “spoiler”. Mike Arcuri has already spoiled his chances quite well enough all on his own.

Arcuri certainly got some interesting telephone messages from Tea Party protesters, but perhaps more convincing was the $53,500 he received from medical industry PACs, and $15,000 from insurance industry PACs. That’s in addition to the amounts given by individual lobbyists.

As Mayor of Trumansburg, John White would be in a position to lead the village into providing some of our water to natural gas drilling companies such as the one that holds a lease on his own property. It smells like a serious conflict of interest.

The Democratic Party held it’s caucus to nominate candidates for the election upcoming on November third.
